With the holiday season upon us, we often feel pulled in many directions (including quite often the kitchen!). Rather than feeling guilt or anxiety over how to deal with all the tempting goodies, give yourself permission to say “okay, I will enjoy it”. Just do so mindfully - this means eating slowly and savouring each and every bite.
Keep reading for some more healthy tips to get you through the holidays feeling happy and healthy!:
- Stop eating when you are 80% full (you can admit it - the first few bites taste the best anyway). Remember, the 'Clean-Your-Plate-Club' is not a cool club to join. When you’re full, you're full!
- Make sure your plate is plentiful with veggies & fruits - these naturally low-calorie nutrition powerhouses are filled with water and fibre to help you feel full (so you'll eat fewer indulgent treats).
- If you feel pressured by someone to “eat more”, simply respond with “Everything has been so delicious that I don’t want to spoil my appetite by overdoing it” (who can be offended by that?)
