Eating a healthy breakfast can be difficult. Common breakfast foods that are high in sugar, like some cereals, waffles, and pancakes can leave us feeling bloated…not a fun way to start your day. This beat-the-bloatmeal recipe will leave you feeling satisfied for hours, and without the bloat!
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10-15 minutes
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients
1 cup rolled oats
3 cups milk of your choice
4 tsp maple syrup
Sprinkle of cinnamon
Fruits (bananas, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries)
Nuts or seeds (almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds)
Instructions
Place the oats and the milk into a small pot and cook over medium heat until the oats are cooked (10-15 minutes). Stir occasionally.
Once the oats are cooked, serve in a bowl topped with fruits, nuts, and any nut butter of your choice and enjoy! (peanut butter, sesame butter, or sunflower butter work well!)
